About This Game

Trapped with Jester is a short, fully voiced visual novel that runs straight in your browser. You wake in a moving carriage with a headache, broken memories, and a stranger who will not stop talking. The whole chapter plays out inside that carriage, so what you are really reading is two people circling each other while the landscape outside refuses to stay still.

The tone is strange on purpose. Horror and comedy sit shoulder to shoulder here, and the jester's jokes land right up against the moments that are not funny at all. That friction is the point: the game is far more interested in how a bad joke makes a bad situation feel normal than in the situation itself.

Made By One Person, Voiced By Another

Anta wrote, illustrated, and coded the game. Ethan Waldrep handled the English voice acting. That split matters because the writing is doing something a little unusual with pacing: long stretches of silence set against a voice that never stops moving, so the soundtrack and the text pull against each other instead of reinforcing one another.

The chapter is also multilingual. Text is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, and French, and the English build ships with full voice work rather than the placeholder audio most short visual novels settle for.

How It Ends, and How Many Ways

There are six endings in total: four main endings and two alternate endings. Replaying is the intended way to play, because the branching is not signposted for you. The game never announces that a route has locked; you find out from what someone says three scenes later.

A Note On The Web Build

The creator notes that the browser version may lag or have sound distortion, and that the game is best experienced with some patience on the first launch while the assets download. If the embed does not come up at all, the game also opens directly in a new tab from the player controls, so you are never stuck on a blank frame.

“The voice acting is what sold me. The jester keeps talking and the sound design never lets the jokes settle. Read it twice, because the first time you will only be reacting.”

M. Okonkwo
one sitting, 2026

“Short, fully voiced, and the funniest thing I have played with a horror label on it. Finding the two alternate endings took me a second run. Worth it.”

S. Delacroix
two runs, 2026

“Four stars only because it is short and you feel it. The carriage setting does a lot with very little. The text also being available in four languages is a genuinely nice touch.”

R. Castellanos
one playthrough, 2026

“One writer, one artist, one programmer, and full voice acting on top. For a short visual novel that is a serious amount of work in one package, and it shows. Loaded straight in the browser, no fuss.”

T. Nakamura
chased every ending, 2026

 Frequently Asked Questions

Comedy horror rather than jump scares. The dread comes from the odd, deadpan register: a jester keeps making jokes in a situation that should not be funny, and the game never tells you which half to take seriously.

Yes. It runs directly in your browser, completely free. No download, no install, no account. Press the Play button and the game loads inside the embedded frame.

Six in total: four main endings and two alternate endings. The branching is not signposted, so replaying is the intended way to find all of them.

Yes. The game supports mouse, keyboard, and touch input. The portal page is mobile responsive, though the small text area of a visual novel makes a desktop or tablet more comfortable for a long read. The creator also notes that the web build may lag or have sound distortion, and the player has a new-tab escape hatch if the embed does not come up.
